The Train Has Left the Station

"Women rights are human rights", says Hillary Clinton in Beijing. Women and girls are the most sidelined vulnerable groups in the world. They are half of the world's total population. 

During the past thousand years, humanity has experienced significant progress in all the areas of human development. From mining to money making, from farmland to factory, and from earth's barren land to the space; human race is dominating are everywhere. If I ask specific question, "who are dominating actually or what is their gender?" The ultimate answer is man or male. Weren't there women or girls? Weren't there fair share for them? There were. So why the denial? 

I am reminded the chair incident happened to he EC President Von der Leyen in Turkey and the answer is clear. The denial of existence of half of the human race. This denial is not only in one single sector of development. From drawing room to the conference room, from crop field to the factory QC pass, from the classroom of Kindergarten to the laboratory of the universities; this denial is evident, proven and in many cases provocatively claimed to be right. 

AND THAT DENIAL IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS. 


The "16 Days of Activism" is not a mere movement to wear orange dresses or shirts, but a clear sign for the train to stop and change the direction towards a world without violence and discrimination. Why do we need to celebrate or observe it. As a human race, we have committed many a times to pay the price of denouncing the rights of women and girls. But we did pay no attention. We did frame CEDAW or many other charters, we laid indicators on MDG and SDG; but we paid least attention when it comes to the empowerment of women and girls. I am reminded to advocate clearly that we are late. Yes, we are absolutely late. 

We are late and the "16 Days of Activism" reminds us that do whatever we can do to stop the discriminations, violence and abuses towards women and girls. 

LET US DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. THE TRAIN HAS ALREADY LEFT THE STATION.

২৭শে আগস্ট, আসানসোলের আগুনপাখি জাতীয় কবি বিদ্রোহী কবি কাজী নজরুল ইসলামের মৃত্যুদিবস কবিকে শ্রদ্ধার সাথে স্মরণ করছি। মহাকালের যাত্রাপথে কোন এক বিকেলে দেখা হোক। একটিবার শোনাতে স্বকণ্ঠে 'বিদ্রোহী'। এক মানবজনমে না হয় দেখা হলনা। জনম শেষে দেখা হতে তো বাধা নাই।

  ভারতবিরোধী যুদ্ধে সার্বিক প্রস্তুতিতে করণীয় ভারতের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ এখন বাস্তবতা। বিপ্লবের পর আমরা দিন দিন ভারতীয় ঘৃণা বাড়তে দেখছি। ভারত কোন কালেই আমাদের বন্ধু হবেনা। তাই প্রস্তাভগুলো তুলে ধরলাম। আমার প্রস্তাব পুরোটাই যুদ্ধ প্রস্তুতি কেন্দ্রিক। এতে অতিবিপ্লবী চরিত্র ধরা পড়তেই পারে। কিন্তু রাষ্ট্র যদি প্রথম অগ্রাধিকার হয় তবে এর বিকল্প নাই। প্রস্তাবগুলো হল- ভারতের বিরুদ্ধে সামাজিক সংহতি ও সচেতনতা তৈরী করতে গ্রাম থেকে জাতীয় পর্যায়ে "ভারতীয় আগ্রাসন প্রতিরোধ কমিটি" গঠন করতে হবে। জরুরী ভিত্তিতে বিএমএ স্পেশাল কোর্সের মাধ্যমে বাহিনীগুলোতে অফিসার নিয়োগ দিতে হবে, ভারতের বিরুদ্ধে প্রস্তুতির অংশ হিসেবে। সমস্ত নৌ, বিমান, স্থলবন্দর ও জাতীয় মহাসড়কসমূহ "রিজনেবল একোমোডেশন এন্ড রিএলাইনমেন্ট"-এর ভিত্তিতে প্রস্তুত করতে হবে। বাংলাদেশ পুলিশের সদস্যদের যুদ্ধকালীন ব্যবস্থাপনার জন্য প্রস্তুত করতে হবে। প্যারামিলিটারি বাহিনীগুলোকে নিয়োগ ও প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়ে প্রস্তুত করতে হবে। বিএনসিসি, স্কাউট, কমিউনিটি পুলিশকে প্রস্তুত করতে হবে। হাইস্কুল, কলেজ, বিশ্বিবদ্যালয়ের ও মাদ্রাসা র শিক্ষার্থীদের শর্ট মিল...
